We’ll start with the most heart breaking one, this Volvo V70 R spaceball.
Next is a 2014 S80 T6 AWD that is on the way so no SR20
Also, this 2 week old Volvo XC90 and 2007 S40 T5
Over in our Mercedes section is a couple 2015 S-Class belonging to a hotel and a brand new E-Class loaner car that burned down to the metal skeleton. Will try to get SR20s. Customer says he reverse out of their driveway, street was flooded, then it caught fire.
Last, we got a call from a dude in a DBS that didn’t know the water was “that deep”. Vehicle stalled, most likely totalled.
I’ll update this as the day goes on.

Floods...don’t drive in them. That being said, I probably would if’n I knew the depth by marker or reputation and it was less than 3 feet.

It occurs to me that no one seems to question the stupidity of driving into too-deep water and destroying your car. Seems like the perfect way to commit insurance fraud.

That sounds good in theory and I’ve driven through my fair share of covered road when I shouldn’t have, but it is bad practice. Floods will wash out parts of the road you are expecting to be there and you won’t be able to see that it isn’t there.
That being said, totally going to try and get the new truck stuck in a field behind my house. A river has formed and they are doing new residential construction, so they won’t mind a few new tire ruts......

I’ll buy the DBS for $902.10, gut it, and throw a built 5.3 Vortech/Tremec swap in there. Should be about $2500 all-in. LeMons track monster, anyone?

When the vehicles get a check engine lights or any catastrophic codes in their ECU’s, the car stores all vehicle data at the exact time it happened. It the engine went BOOM!, there is a freeze frame we click on once we plug the car into our scan tools that show us a lot of good info. Things like, time, what pedal is being pressed and how much, RPM’s, steering angle, etc. etc.

The tacos are on the pricey side, ~$4-5 per taco. But they’re good.
Singapore has everything, but good western food is considered exotic and is more expensive (except fast food). Just like good Asian food is exotic in the States.
Only thing is, when it comes to good cheap Chinese, Malay and Indonesian food available here, I’m not super familiar with or fond of that. I need someone to introduce me to the good stuff lol
I have found good joints for Mexican, Pizza, Burgers, Tapas, Vietnamese and Thai so far. Only thing is, going anywhere takes a while because I have to use public transport.
Hope you make it back alright. If not, its a perfect excuse to sleep/camp out in one of the new XC90s.

Hi there, I’m just looking for some general Volvo help and I was wondering how you think a 2000 ish S60or V70 would hold up in terms of reliability after 150xxx miles. I’m looking for a cheap (2-3K), reliable, safe car for my girlfriend to commute to and from school in. Preferably good in snow too. I’m looking at something like this https://newhaven.craigslist.org/cto/5544501970… or https://newhaven.craigslist.org/cto/5476613443… . If you could help me out or point me in the right direction, I would really really appreciate it.

As in any used car search, the specific vehicle has to have been well maintained for optimal use and value. Give it the good look around, TEST DRIVE it, and haggle haggle :] Check for the obvious things like brakes, tires, warning lights, hoses, interior trim, functionality of things, etc. etc.
I will list a few things to look for specifically with those rad cars but as usual, that doesn’t mean it will 100% happen to this car or that it will be an issue in the near future.
Timing belt- a big plus if it has been done recently.
Oil trap box (PVC)- another plus if it had been done recently
Those are really the big 2 and the first one is just maintenance. Other stuff to look out for is:
Front spring seats (upper shock rubber mounts)
Front lower control arm bushings
Headlight connectors
Bulbs (those year Volvo eat bulbs lol)
Module failure (CEM, ABS, Siren, Radio, Immobilizer)- not common per say but not a guarantee it will or will not occur
Besides those things, the driving dynamics are great on a solid one of these. They are safe duh with all the usual features like seat belt pre tensioners, stability control, traction control, etc. Also, Volvo innovations like SIPS, WHIPS, advanced SRS, etc.
Those S60 AWD or 2001 and newer XC70 is going to be your best bet sir. If S60, the turbo engine is a must. All (2001-) XC70 were turbo AWD and a dream to drive. That S60 you posted look the radness but mileage are at the threshhold. If you can find one with less mileage it’ll be great but that one isn’t too bad.
